Detection: |
We employ a service called CopyScape that
monitors the Internet for duplicate copies of our content - and we're automatically notified via email
on their premium service called CopySentry.
We also pay quarterly fees to register our copyrighted works with the U.S. Copyright Office.
Why? Because it allows us to file suit for monetary damages, in addition to statutory damages,
should a violation arise.
 |
Actions: |
| We take pride in our work - so we protect it. In addition, duplicate content is punished by
search engines in their rankings as well, so you'll harm your own ranking by infringing and copying
others. Be original - it benefits you.
Penalties for
copyright infringement.
Punitive damages
for violations.
When discovered, we review the situation and file a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice
of infringement with your hosting company. They will shutdown your site and not refund your
hosting fees. If they don't take an infringing site offline expeditiously, they themselves also
become responsible for monetary and statutory damages that an infringer caused - so if you copy content
from us, expect your site to be taken offline quickly and without notice. |
